Sunday School -
1) Sunday School classes will resume in
approximately two weeks, on Sunday, August 17, 2008.
2) All the members
who are interested in sending their children to Sunday School and who have not
yet come to Sunday school (i.e. new members), please contact the headmaster (Mr.
Joseph Mathews) this Sunday so that the correct number of Sunday School
textbooks can be ordered. Also, if you have not yet returned your
textbooks from last year, please do so, so that we can make use of them again
this year.
3) 2008 Sunday School Teachers Conference
is scheduled for September 13, 2008 from 9am to 4:30pm at St. Thomas Orthodox
Church in Oklahoma. Let headmaster know asap if you are interested in
riding on the shuttle bus with other 3 Houston churches.
4) If you are interested in serving as a
Sunday School teacher (full-time/part-time/
substitute), and have not yet communicated so with the headmaster, please do so
at the earliest.

FOCUS -
1) FOCUS faith series continues this
Saturday (August 9, 2008) from 5pm to 7pm at our church. Speaker is Chris
Mathew (3rd Year Seminarian at St. Tikons Seminary).

1) The next M.M.Samajam meeting has been
scheduled for Sunday, August 31,2008 after the service.

Other Items / Upcoming Events -
1) Church picnic trophies will be
distributed this Sunday (08/10/2008), after the service.
2) As previously announced, our church
talent show is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 5pm to 8pm.
Coordinators for the event are Jacob John, Seasor Markose, and Melvin Abraham.
All members are encouraged to participate. Bulletin board has current
listing of programs... if yours is not listed, please contact one of the
coordinators by this Sunday (August 10th). This Sunday (08/10/2008) will
be the last opportunity to request a slot in the program.
3) Our Diocesean Metropolitan (Barnabas
Thirumeni) will be coming for annual visit to all 3 Houston churches in August.
He will be coming to our church in 2 weeks, on Sunday August 17, 2008.
4) Sunday School prizes for the 2007-2008
school year will be distributed in two weeks by Barnabas Thirumeni, on Sunday
August 17, 2008.
5) Our annual camping trip is scheduled
for the weekend of September 12th - 14th at Camp Allen. Registration forms
are available, $10 per person deposit. (Coordinators for this event are John G.
Varghese & Phillip Mathew). Please register yourselves at the
earliest. Your proactiveness is greatly appreciated.
6) Our Church Perenal will be from
Thursday October 30, 2008 thru Sunday November 2, 2008. Iraneous Thirumeni
has been invited as the cheif celebrant.
7) Christmas Caroling will be the
weekends of December 5th, 12th and 19th. Coordinators for this event are
Johnson Markose and O.T. Abraham.

TO FIND ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR MEMBERS WHO WERE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND EITHER OF THE
PAST TWO PHOTO SESSIONS. WE WILL SHARE THE ALTERNATE OPTIONS WITH YOU AS
SOON AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE.
