Flag hoisting marks the beginning of Parumala Perunal 2011.

Weeklong celebration of patron saint of our church, St. Gregorios of Parumala, started with flag hoisting on Sunday Oct 30, 2011. The flag hoisting ceremony was led by our Vicar, Rev. Fr. P.M. Cheriyan, and accompanied by Rev. Fr. Mathukutty, and joined by the whole congregation.
This year’s celebration will mark an important milestone in the history of St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Houston. Holy relics of the Blessed Saint, which was auspiciously brought from Parumala, will be ceremoniously dedicated and installed on Saturday November 5th by His Grace. Abraham Mar Epiphanios, metropolitan of Sultan Bathery diocese.
H. G Abraham Mar Epiphanios is the chief celebrant of this year’s Perunaal. His Grace is a dedicated and an ardent believer of Parumala Thirumeni. He led a monastic life in Parumala Seminary from 1986 to 1990.
